Garlic & FODMAP FAQ
Is Garlic low FODMAP?
Very high FODMAP — use infused oil instead. Garlic is extremely high in fructans and a top IBS trigger; even a small clove can cause symptoms, and the fructans survive cooking. Garlic-infused oil delivers the flavour without the FODMAPs, because fructans are not oil-soluble.
Can I eat Garlic on a low-FODMAP diet?
Garlic is high FODMAP and best avoided during the elimination phase, as it is high in Fructans. Reintroduce carefully later to find your personal tolerance.
